The FIA has requested the French motorsport authorities an urgent clarification on the French Grand Prix. Earlier this week the FFSA announced that due to financial reasons they could not organize the French Grand Prix.
A FIA spokesperson now says the FIA has never received an official notification from the FFSA. "The FIA secretary general has written to the president of the FFSA today to seek an urgent clarification of the situation of the French Grand Prix," a FIA spokesman told Reuters. "Up until today we have heard nothing and we are gravely concerned."
