Heidfeld given grid penalty

Heidfeld given grid penalty

18 October 2008

Nick Heidfeld has been given a three-place grid penalty for tomorrow's Chinese Grand Prix after stewards ruled that he had hindered David Coulthard in today's qualifying session.

Coulthard dropped out of Q1 and complained that Heidfeld had slowed him down with an 'unsportsmanlike' move.

Heidfeld had qualified seventh, and after the penalty he will actually start ninth as ahead of him on the grid, Mark Webber is serving a ten-place grid penalty for an engine change.
