A group of government officials from Canada have flown to London for crisis talks with Bernie Ecclestone as they try a last ditch attempt at saving the Canadian Grand Prix and having it reinstated on the 2009 F1 calendar.
The Canadian Grand Prix was dropped over a 'commercial disagreement' between the race organisers and Ecclestone's Formula One Management (FOM).
Reports sugges that the Quebec government is willing to lend some financial support to get the race back on the calendar because of the major boost it gives to the local economy. Whether they are prepared to invest as much as FOM remains to be seen.
