Massa says pressure is all on Hamilton

26 October 2008

Felipe Massa says he feels no pressure ahead of next week's championship decider on home ground at Interlagos as he knows exactly what he needs to do. Instead, he believes the pressure is on Hamilton who has everything to lose.

"It's true that I have a tougher job than Lewis in terms of the points situation, but my objective for this weekend is much more straightforward than his," Massa said. "I only have to focus on winning the race on Sunday with hopefully Kimi second behind me."

"The only thing I'm thinking about is winning," he added "After that the rest of it isn't in my hands and I'll have to wait and see exactly where we are."

"It's impossib;e to predict what will happen in Brazil but I think our car has always been very good at Interlagos," Massa went on. "I will also have huge support in my home town. Lewis will definitely try to put pressure on me, but I have zero pressure because I've got nothing to lose."

"All the pressure will be on Lewis, especially when you think about what happened at Brazil last year," he concluded.

Massa trails Hamilton by seven points, the same gap that Raikkonen had to the McLaren driver before taking the championship last year.
