Felipe Massa hailed his amazing home crowd support after storming to a dominant pole position at Interlagos today. The Brazilian's fans have been incredibly vocal in their support of the Ferrari driver's championship hopes throughout the weekend so far.
"The people around here are amazing," said Massa who drove his fans wild with his stunning pole. "It's so nice to be here and take my third pole in a row in front of these fantastic people who have such a 100 per cent emotion about motor racing. It's great for us to come here and see so many people who love what we're doing, that's difficult to describe our feeling in a single word, especially me in front of my home crowd."
"We have 73 laps tomorrow, which is pretty long but it's always better to start in front," he added. "We have a good car and have proved that we're competitive around here in practice and showed that in qualifying, especially Q3. It's great to be in front and I'll do my best to win the race and that's the most important thing. I was very comfortable and quick throughout the session and in Q2 I made a small mistake at turn four and lost a couple of tenths, so that would have been quicker then, but I put it all together in Q3 which is even better. I think we have a good strategy for tomorrow."
