Senna hopes to test McLaren next season

Bruno Senna hopes he can join the McLaren Formula 1 team next season for a day of testing. The team where is uncle Ayrton Senna won the F1 championship title three times would be the perfect team for the 25-year-old Brazilian.

"I don't really need a race seat in Formula 1 from the start. I've already said several times that I wouldn't mind being a Formula 1 test driver for a year," Bruno Senna told Nu Sport. "I'd love to become a test driver by a top team such as McLaren so I've got a good learning year.

"If Kovalainen's contract does end at the end of 2009 it could be an advantage for me, but I'm not going to speculate what is in someone else's contract. We'll see what happens when we get there."
