Lewis Hamilton's father, Anthony said he was 'speechless' after his son took the drivers' championship by the skin of his teeth in the very final corner of the Brazilian Grand Prix, capitalising on a struggling Timo Glock to retake fifth place and the point he needed to win the crown.
"I can't say anything, I really can't find any words, it's absolutely great," Hamilton senior said. He had been spotted pacing furiously at the back of the McLaren garage in the closing laps of the race when it looked like the title was lost. "We got the championship, onto the next one. It's just been an absolute dream."
Anthony Hamilton also had a dig at the Brazilian crowds who made no secret of their shock and disappointment that Hamilton had clawed the championship back in the final corner, "It's a shame that the crowd was booing, they should be fair sportspeople," he added.
