De la Rosa joins Force India in Barcelona

McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa is testing for the Force India Formula 1 team at Circuit de Catalunya on Tuesday. Rumours already suggested that the Spaniard could very well soon replace either Giancarlo Fisichella or Adrian Sutil in 2009 and De la Rosa's test in Spain will now only feed these rumours.

In October Force India team boss Vijay Mallya has said that he wants to continue with his 2008 driver line-up. But as the team announced a partnership with McLaren for the upcoming season rumours in the paddock suggested the team could soon become McLaren's B-team, even though both party obviously will never admit it.

In 2009 Force India will be racing with Mercedes engines, McLaren gearbox and McLaren's KERS system. An experienced driver such as Pedro de la Rosa could help the team develop the car for 2009.
