Sato unable to rate his chances

Takuma Sato enjoyed two days of testing this week at Circuit de Catalunya at Scuderia Toro Rosso. The Japanese driver was well on the pace with the car and hopes to join the Italian's as the team's race driver for next season. He is unable to rate his changes though he said.

"I have really enjoyed driving this fast car and working with this team," Sato told GPUpdate.net. "It was very interesting to work with the engineers and it was a good opportunity to test with them again these days. We did a lot of laps and collected a lot of data."

Toro Rosso have yet to announce its 2009 driver line-up. Takuma Sato is a serious candidate but will have to compete against Sebastien Bourdais and Sebastien Buemi. Sato is unable to rate his chances to get signed up for next season. "I really don't know how big my chances are but I have done everything I could," he said. "Unfortunately this is not something I can decide so we will have to wait and see. But I'm satisfied with the work I've done here and t was good to be back behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car. Hopefully I can race in F1 again next season."
