Lots to learn about slicks - Heidfeld
24 November 2008BMW Sauber F1 driver Nick Heidfeld has welcomed the return of slick tyres to F1 after testing the 2009 configuration BMW test car at Barcelona last week for the first time equipped with slick Bridgestone rubber.

"Definitely the slick tyres provide more grip than the 2008 grooved tyres," Heidfeld said. "On the other hand we have to start from zero by learning how the slick tyres heat up and for how many laps they deliver optimum performance."
The BMW team will continue winter testing in Jerez, where two sessions - 9th to 11th and 15th to 17th December - will conclude the 2008 season.
