Sebastien Buemi did his hopes of landing an F1 race drive for 2009 no harm in testing at Jerez today as he finished fastest of all ahead of Toro Rosso team mate Bourdais.
Fog and a damp circuit in the early morning meant that the main action did not begin until mid-morning and a rain shower mid-afternoon disrupted things.
McLaren tester Gary Paffett was third fastest testing the team's KERS system and finished ahead of fellow McLaren tester Pedro de la Rosa.
Kimi Raikkonen was back in action for Ferrari and ended the day fifth ahead of Nick Heidfeld in the 2009-look BMW. Nakajima, Piquet and Klien rounded off the field with the Renault driver covering the most distance of all with 124 laps.
