Sebastien Buemi was also the fastest man on track on Thursday in the South of Spain. With Scuderia Toro Rosso Buemi topped the time sheets on all three days at Jerez. Takuma Sato was just behind Buemi as the duo are trying to secure their seat at the team for next season.
The three-day test session at Jerez came to an end on Thursday. Scuderia Toro Rosso was dominant all week topping the time sheets as the team is evaluating both Sebastien Buemi and Takuma Sato as a possibility to become the team's driver in 2009.
While Toro Rosso focussed on evaluating its drivers the other Formula 1 teams placed its total focus on next season. At Renault the team focussed on slicks and racing with low downforce while at McLaren and Williams the teams were testing their brand-new front wing.
The teams will travel to Portugal next week to continue next year's preparations at the brand-new track in Algarve.
