Ferrari wouldn't swap Massa for Hamilton

17 December 2008

Despite losing out on the drivers' championship to Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has insisted that he would not want to swap the reigning champion for Felipe Massa.

"Lewis is a great driver who almost won the title in his first year and then did it in his second," di Montezemolo told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "However, with respect, I wouldn't swap him with Felipe Massa."

"Felipe is very popular for the person he is, and the great driver he's shown he is, and the dignified way he missed out on the championship this year," he added.
