Ferrari could delay KERS

Ferrari could delay KERS

18 December 2008

The Ferrari Formula 1 team might not race with the KERS system at the opening race in March. At the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park the Italians could miss out on the system as the team is not ready yet to use the system already from the start of the season.

According to Ferrari's Engine Chief Gilles Simon the team is not on schedule to introduce KERS in Melbourne. He told Italian newspaper Gazetta dello Sport: "We are behind on schedule with KERS. We have prepared a hybrid car to test the system but unfortunately it is not ready yet."

The team will make a decision in February if KERS will be used in Melbourne or not.
