Heidfeld completes first laps in BMW F1.09

Nick Heidfeld completed his first laps in BMW Sauber F1's F1.09. At Valencia the German took over testing duties after Robert Kubica completed three days of testing.

"I'm really confident that we'll be in good shape with the F1.09 for the upcoming season," Heidfeld said earlier this week. "I can't wait to travel to Australia again for the first race. It will be interesting to see who will be competitive again."

On Friday Nick Heidfeld is wearing his brand-new helmet design. The blue has been replaced by green. "I just wanted a more aggressive look for my helmet and apart from that there isn't any driver in Formula 1 who uses green," Heidfeld said about his new helmet.
