Bourdais fastest with STR's 2008 chassis

Scuderia Toro Rosso driver Sebastien Bourdais clocked the fastest time at Jerez on Thursday. The Frenchman completed his fastest lap in 1m18.493 but he was the only driver out on track with a 2008 chassis. Lewis Hamilton completed the fastest lap of the drivers testing with the 2009 specs.

Thursday was the third and final day of testing for the five Formula One teams in the South of Spain. At Jerez McLaren, Red Bull, Williams, Renault and Scuderia Toro Rosso completed their test programmes.

At McLaren Lewis Hamilton continued testing, like his team-mate Kovalainen on Wednesday, with the MP4-24 but with a 2008 rear wing attached to the car. Hamilton spent the morning concentrating on aero mapping and finding a good balance ahead of the afternoon's long runs. The day was productive and saw the McLaren team continue its work with its KERS programme

On Friday testing will continue at Jerez.
