The new 2009 BMW Sauber F1 car raised eyebrows as the second four-day test of the winter got underway at Sakhir in Bahrain. At the hands of test driver Christian Klien, the car was fastest of all, and also ran reliably for the whole day.
Klien was able to cover over 700km (131 laps) in the F1.09 as he worked on mechanical and aerodynamic set-up of the car as well as trying different tyre compounds.
"It was a very productive day," Klien said. "We collected a lot of data and I even did a long run at the end of the session. Again we didn't have a single technical problem, which is very encouraging."
