Food poisoning strikes Villeneuve

Food poisoning strikes Villeneuve

26 February 2009

Former World Champion Jacques Villeneuve will have to skip this weekend's fourth round in the Speedcar series as the unfortunate Canadian is the victim of poisoning.

Villeneuve is one of the two drivers at Durango in the Speedcar series but the team announced on Thursday morning that the former Williams, B.A.R, Renault, Sauber and BMW driver is unable to race in Dubai because of a food intoxication.

Jacques' last Formula One appearance was at the 2006 German Grand Prix for BMW, being being replaced for the next race by Polish star Robert Kubica. Villeneuve will be replaced this weekend by GP2 driver Hamad Al Fardan.
