Toro Rosso completes first day in Spain

The Toro Rosso team has completed day one of four in Spain as this year's final pre-season test takes place at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya. Frenchman Sebastien Bourdais was at the wheel today, and will continue to drive the STR4 until he hands over to new team-mate Buemi on Wednesday.

Bourdais finished up with a fastest time of 1.22.158, having completed 86 laps and almost 500 kilometres of the Catalan track, which translates to twenty more laps than a full Spanish Grand Prix distance.

"It's much too early to talk about performance," Bourdais said after his first day's running in Catalonia. "However, the car seems to work well and we've already learned a lot today. If we can carry on like this for the next few days, it will be a good starting point for the season."
