New Zealander Brendon Hartley has been linked with a reserve driver role with the Red Bull organisation; Hartley, 19, drove the cars of both Red Bull teams last year at demonstrations and test sessions before qualifying for his F1 superlicense in December, the month in which he returned to the Red Bull Racing cockpit to deputise for the injured Mark Webber.
Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost commented to journalists at the Barcelona test that the Kiwi will be joining for the upcoming season: "Toro Rosso and Red Bull Racing will share the third driver - it is Brendon Hartley."
Despite a confident-sounding Tost, Red Bull was unable to confirm Hartley's position in the two teams to GPUpdate.net. After taking five wins in the British Formula 3 championship last year, Brendon - part of the Red Bull young driver development programme - will be racing in the F3 Euro Series for Carlin Motorsport in 2009.
