Schumi to discuss Ferrari contract over summer

13 March 2009

Michael Schumacher is set to talk with Ferrari regarding his contract this summer, as his position as team advisor is due to expire come the end of the year. The German started the job after retiring as lead driver at the end of the 2006 season.

His current salary is estimated to be in the five million Euro bracket, according to Germany's Bild. "We are in no hurry," manager Willi Weber confirmed. "We'll get something put together during the summer."

Schumacher also grabbed the attention of spectators in Barcelona on Wednesday as the German, following an off from Lewis Hamilton's McLaren, was seen stepping from an Alfa Romeo hire car on the Circuit de Catalunya's internal service road in order to survey the silver arrow as it was lowered onto the recovery vehicle.
