Ahead of the F1 season opener in Melbourne next weekend, Sebastien Bourdais is due to be taking part in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) event at Sebring for Peugeot, a race in which the Frenchman won the GT2 class in 2006. The endurance this weekend will be taking place over the course of 12 hours.
Following Monday's first official day of testing, Bourdais and one-time Minardi F1 driver Stephane Sarrazin were third in the final classification driving the Peugeot 908, as four-time Champcar champion Bourdais looks to repeat his win of three years ago.
"This race always has been one of the toughest races of the season," Sebastien explained. "It's always the first or the last test, depending on what your programme is. It will be a big fight for sure with Audi and Acura, and it's very good preparation for Le Mans. One of the biggest issues for us is trying to get our air conditioning unit running in our car - it is already very tight inside the car, and now we have to add the ventilation system as well."
At the top of the timesheets in testing were Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen and Dindo Capello with the new Audi R15 turdo diesel machine.
