Nakajima fastest on final day of testing

Thursday was the last day of testing for the two teams left at Jerez; Kazuki Nakajima and Heikki Kovalainen were the only two drivers in the south of Spain with the Japanese man setting the fastest time of the day.

During Thursday's fifth day at Jerez Williams' Nakajima had a busy programme and focussed on the setup of the FW31, on his way to the fastest time of the week. The English teams enjoyed good weather conditions once again with sunshine, blue skies and temperatures reaching highs of 21°C (70°F).

At McLaren, Finn Kovalainen was faster than the time he set on Wednesday but ended up half a second behind Nakajima, facing technical problems and parking his car at the side of the track towards to end of the day.

Thursday's test was the final official Formula 1 test before the season gets underway in a week from now; the teams will not be allowed to complete any full days of testing on-track for the entire length of the 2009 World Championship.
