Massa teams up with Ronaldo for Soccerade

23 March 2009

Ferrari's Felipe Massa will be teaming up with football striker Cristiano Ronaldo as a promoter of the new Soccerade energy drink, and has signed a two-year deal with the sports drink manufacturer.

Massa, runner-up to Lewis Hamilton in the 2008 World Championship by just a single point, will be joining the Manchester United star at various promotional events over the course of the 2009 and 2010 seasons. The drink, already available in several European countries and due to be hitting UK shelves in due course, boasts an ability to maintain mental and physical energy by releasing carbohydrates into the bloodstream.

"I look forward to working with Soccerade," Massa said. "It's highly important for a Formula 1 driver to keep full physical power and mental focus during races." It is likely that the Brazilian will be seen with a bottle of the new beverage on the grid throughout the season, as the brand prepares to expand its 'smart energy formula' over coming years.
