Michael Schumacher is to work with the Ferrari team via the pit wall in the Australian Grand Prix this Sunday. The seven-time champion has not driven the Ferrari F60 so far this year, but has been present at test sessions to observe both the activities of the Maranello-based squad and those of its rivals, from various areas of the circuits.
Schumacher retired as a driver at the end of the 2006 season and has been present at a number of races since, but will have a greater input this year. "During the last two seasons it was not so important for Michael to be so involved at every race," manager Willi Weber explained to Germany's Bild.
"With the many rule changes this year, he can help the engineers make the car better; the key is communicating with the engineers - they will evaluate the data, and Michael's experience is extremely important."
