Glock frustrated by last flying lap

Timo Glock starts Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix from a career-best third position, although the German can't help feeling disappointed with his efforts. Having originally qualified fifth, Timo was elevated to third as Barrichello and Vettel both received grid penalties. The result leaves the Toyotas in second and third, and the Japanese team with their best ever chance to win a Grand Prix.

"Overall, qualifying went quite well and I'm happy to be starting third," Glock said after the session. "I'm a bit frustrated with my final lap in Q3 because I was struggling a little bit to get used to how the car felt with a heavier fuel load, meaning I didn't get 100 percent out of it. In Q2, on a light fuel load, I made a few mistakes on my first run but then I got it absolutely right on the second and was really pleased with my lap."

Glock entered F1 for the first time in 2004 as temporary replacement to Giorgio Pantano at Jordan, before returning with Toyota in 2008 in a year which saw him take his first podium, with second place in Hungary. "In the end it's a good result for the whole team to have two cars in the top three," he added. "It will be a tricky race and Jarno and I will push each other very hard, but we also have to think about the weather because that could be a factor." The red and white cars are expected to make their first pit stops within a lap of each other in the race, with FIA readings displaying identical fuel loads after qualifying.
