Race stewards have unsurprising denied a new protest lodged by the BMW Sauber team in Malaysia; the German team put the protest forward against the diffusers of Brawn, Williams and Toyota having already had their previous case (in which Ferrari, Renault and Red Bull also protested) denied in Australia.
"It was just a formal issue in order to make sure that this race is taken into consideration at the appeal, like Melbourne will be," confirmed Dr. Mario Theissen, team principal to BMW. "It was nothing more than that.
With race stewards at both meetings denying the case, a hearing will be held on Tuesday 14 April at FIA headquarters in Paris to discover the fates of the three teams; "This new protest is in order to make it is clear that this is a formal thing, and has nothing to do with what goes on over the weekend here; we just want to make sure that the International Court of Appeal (ICA) decide on both of the events."
