Jarno Trulli admits he is surprised to find himself on the front row of the grid for tomorrow's Malaysian Grand Prix. The Italian driver is enjoying a satisfying start to the season, with six points already on the scoreboard. Team-mate Timo Glock will be just behind Jarno at the start, meaning it has been a good day's work for the Toyota team.
"I didn't expect to be here," Trulli admitted in the post-session press conference. "The track conditions were not comfortable, but we worked out a good setup by analysing the data; today we got it right, and the tyres were spot on. It is a shame to miss out on the pole by a few hundredths but it is good, so let's see what happens tomorrow."
The team is continuing the positive run of form it began with in the second half of 2008, with a front row starting position for Trulli in Brazil being repeated in Malaysia this weekend. "I hope to have a good race and a good fight - it will be a nice race hopefully," he continued. "Starting at 5pm means it is much more comfortable than it used to be; racing later in the afternoon might mean some showers tomorrow, but it is cooler so easier for us. It is a technical, hard and physically demanding circuit, but we have always been good here so I am waiting to see what happens."
