Vettel hoping for rain
04 April 2009 / Results / PhotosSebastian Vettel will be praying for rain on Saturday night following a promising qualifying session, which finished with the Red Bull being dropped ten places down the grid. Vettel's part in the accident involving Robert Kubica in Australia quickly ensured that a '1' was inserted infront of his third position, meaning the German starts the Grand Prix from row seven.

"I have the penalty and there's nothing I can do about it," Vettel said plainly in the press conference after the session. "The secret is just to focus on what you're here for - we're here to race, so that's what we will do; it's good to see the car is performing at a high level because throughout Q1, Q2 and Q3 we were more or less up there in the top five, but of course it's a shame to drop 10 places tomorrow."
Team-mate Mark Webber completed a positive day for Red Bull Racing by qualifying seventh, which translates to fifth on the grid as Vettel and Barrichello take their respective penalties; the Australian could even have challenged for better had he not lost time in the final corner. "It will be a very tough day for me tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to it - nothing is impossible." Vettel continued.
The heavy rain forecast all day finally came after the session, which is further proof that Sunday's Grand Prix could be run in the wet at some point, which Vettel sees as only an advantage. "I personally hope for some rain because it can mix up quite a lot, so let's see," he explained. "Usually the rain here comes a bit later in the day, so I'm looking forward to what could happen. We didn't have a big problem with the sun because it was quite cloudy, unlike in Melbourne where it was very low in the sky; here, we couldn't see it that much and it was probably a little bit cooler than in the midday heat.
"I'm still young!" the German hastily added, glancing at Button and Trulli alongside him.
