Malaysian GP stopped due to rain

The Malaysian Grand Prix has been halted due to heavy rainstorms striking the Sepang circuit. The red flag made an appearance after 33 laps as drivers attempted to keep their cars on the race track in impossible conditions.

With 75% of the race not yet completed, the event should go on although the clock continues despite the stoppage; if the race reaches two hours it will be stopped, regardless of which lap it is - in this case, points will be awarded in the normal way.

If the race does not restart, however, the results will be taken from the lap before the stoppage, with half points being awarded. You can follow the race live on GPUpdate.net to be aware of events as they continue to unfold.
