BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica has said he will be racing with the KERS system onboard this weekend. Bahrain will mark the first time for the Polish driver to use the system during the race, as so far he has only tested it in free practice sessions.
"We plan to use KERS the whole weekend," Kubica said after he and the team took a difficult decision. "As you know, I removed it (in China) but the result in China on Saturday was not what I was expecting (18th in qualifying). It is quite difficult for myself to use it, but I hope in Bahrain I will face less problems with the balance and weight distribution issues."
As one of the tallest drivers in the sport, the added 30-35kg (approx. 5 - 5.5 stone) of weight on the car has proven to be troublesome so far, with a heavier car than team-mate Nick Heidfeld when using KERS.
