Luca di Montezemolo has been invited to be the starter of this year's legendary Le Mans 24-hour endurance race, taking place on 13-14 June. The Ferrari president has been invited to the French circuit to see off the field on what will be the 60th anniversary of Ferrari's first victory there.
"I am delighted to be given the opportunity to start a race that has made motor racing history and has such strong links with Ferrari," di Montezemolo said. "Our Scuderia has delivered some unforgettable achievements on the circuit."
The Italian will be joined accompanied at the track by compatriot and current Formula One team principal Stefano Domenicali during the event. "The Le Mans 24-hour race is synonymous with technologically-advanced sporting competition and has always been a focus of great attention on our part," di Montezemolo concluded.
