Force India's Vijay Mallya will be approaching the FIA's 2010 proposals with caution after a full review was released on Thursday. Owner of Kingfisher and the Force India team, Indian Mallya is fully reviewing the scheme before making any firm decisions.
"In principle, Force India welcomes all cost cutting initiatives and budget caps," he said, "but we must fully investigate and understand the implications of the current measures proposed by both the FIA (governing body) and FOTA (Formula One Teams' Association)."
Elsewhere in the field, the McLaren and Williams teams have made their views clear that one set of technical regulations would be preferable over the proposed two-tier system, whereas reigning constructors' champions Ferrari refused to comment. "We will review the proposal internally within the next FOTA meeting, scheduled for Wednesday 6 May," Mallya continued. "Until this point it would be inappropriate to comment further."
