Toyota completes over 700km on Friday

The Toyota team racked up plenty of mileage in Spain on Friday as Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock completed a total of 152 laps and 707 kilometres of the Circuit de Catalunya. Although their final afternoon runs were blighted by yellow flags as Nico Rosberg stopped, both cars finished in the top eight of the morning session.

"We went through our normal Friday routine of testing tyres and setups as we get ready for qualifying tomorrow," said Trulli, who was second in the first session. "We also worked to understand what strategy to take in terms of tyres and everything. The tyre testing went reasonably well but obviously we need to analyse the data before we make any decisions; the car is not perfect and it needs to be a bit more balanced before I am happy with it." The Italian has no major worries, though, and is confident that track conditions on Saturday will better suit the TF109.

"It was not a very good day for me today to be honest," Glock admitted. "I was struggling quite a bit with the tyre behaviour in both practice sessions and it is really tricky to understand what the problem was. I'm not happy with how things have gone today but we won't give up - we will do our best to find a solution."
