Another top three grid slot for Vettel

Sebastian Vettel was happy to complete another competitive qualifying session in the top three, having already done so at the first four races this season. In fact, the German is the only man to start in the first three positions from every race so far and is looking to beat the Brawn of Jenson Button off the line in Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix.

"We have a very strong car and also this weekend it seems to work pretty well, so I'm very pleased with that," Vettel said after qualifying. "When I had the first run in Q2 I felt very comfortable in the car and on the second run I think the lap time was good, but unfortunately not good enough to beat Jenson today. I wished to have the pole but in the last minute he took it away!"

Despite missing out on the top spot by a tenth of a second, the German was thankful for his team's hard work over the weekend so far. "Second position is great, front row, especially as I think we had a very good recovery from yesterday when I think we were struggling a little bit with the balance of the car," he continued. "In winter it's quite different - from when we were here two months ago for testing - to now so we fixed it and, again, this morning for qualifying we did another adjustment to the car which seemed to work so I'm very happy and very pleased for that.

"We only needed one run in Q1 with the hard tyre and one run in Q2 on the soft tyre, which should have been a bit quicker but I had a mistake in the last sector. Nevertheless, great job also compliments to the whole crew because some of the parts arrived last minute and they had to trim it to mould it to the car so it was all a bit tight, long nights, not a lot of sleep but they will have more today!"
