Brawn joins forces with the Terminator

Having already announced a new sponsorship deal with Willans harnesses, logos of the new Terminator Salvation action film could also be seen on the cars of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello in Barcelona on Friday as the team took on blockbuster sponsorship even before the glitz and glamour of the Monaco Grand Prix.

The logos will remain on the cars for the Spanish Grand Prix weekend only, ahead of the premiere of the film in France on 28 May. In only a one-race partnership, the logos can be seen on the rear wing endplates of the BGP 001 cars, which currently lead both championships.

"We are thrilled to be supporting Sony Pictures Releasing International with the launch of Terminator Salvation at this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix," team owner Ross Brawn said. "Our promotional partnership will see our cars and our garage branded with the famous Terminator imagery, as we help launch one of Hollywood's biggest movies of the year to over 580 million Formula One viewers in over 90 countries.

"The Terminator brand promises exciting action and high drama as machines and human ingenuity battle for supremacy; it's a perfect match for Brawn GP and Formula One." Indeed, it perhaps sets the ideal tone after the two drivers rounded off the day with fourth and sixth places in practice - but they will be back…
