Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Räikkönen completed the two fastest laps on Saturday morning at the Circuit de Catalunya. In Massa's case, his effort of 1.20.553 was a full second faster than fastest lap time of Friday. Nick Heidfeld missed half of the session as the German crashed his BMW into a tyre wall.

The second day of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend got under way at 11:00am in Barcelona. Temperatures are already up to 21 Degrees Celsius.

The thousands of Spanish fans at the track near Barcelona saw just one incident 29 into the session. BMW Sauber F1 driver Nick Heidfeld lost control of his car and spun into the tyre wall. His front nose was slightly damaged and the German was unable to continue his session. Heidfeld completed just eight laps in this morning's session.

The Ferrari team focussed on the qualifying set-up of their F60's with Massa and Raikkonen. The Italian team topped the time sheets for most of the session. Brawn GP ended the session in third and fourth and will most likely join the Ferrari's in a fight for pole position this afternoon.

The qualifying session will start at 14:00 local time.
