Mark Webber was pleased to score another podium finish in the Spanish Grand, coming home third behind the dominant Brawn cars of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. The Australian now moves up to fourth in the World Championship, ahead of the non-scoring Toyota of Jarno Trulli.

"It was a tough first stint, in terms of we knew in qualifying that it was going to be difficult to get track position on guys, particularly Felipe, around this place because you can't do much on the circuit," Webber explained in the post-race press conference. "We did our best to hang in there in the first stint as best we could. I knew I was one lap short which is never ideal but that's the way it was, and the car went incredibly neutral at high speed in the last few laps of the first stint so we made a balance correction for the second stint.

"The second stint went very, very well for me. It was very long, we knew we had to go extremely long to give us a very good field position in terms of the people around us - that worked well for the majority of the stint but the guys were encouraging me to stay as close as possible because we thought Rubens might have been one lap shorter, but he stopped on the same lap and that was really a stalemate to the end obviously."

Although there is no change in the pecking order at the sharp end of the field, the Milton-Keynes based team clearly moved ahead of Toyota on performance in Spain to establish itself as the second quickest constructor to Brawn. "It's a good day for the team," Webber summed up. "We would like a few more points, but that's a good chunk for us - these guys (Brawn) are still going away but we're going away from the rest of the field so a great weekend for the team." The Queanbeyan-born man also thanked engine manufacturer Renault for its continued development and progress.
