Jenson Button will continue to search for a more suitable car setup in final practice on Saturday morning after suffering from a small number of issues on Thursday afternoon. The championship leader, currently fourteen points ahead of Rubens Barrichello, wound up just under two tenths of a second slower than his Brazilian team-mate to finish fourth in the second practice session.
Missing out on the Monaco win by less than half a second to Jarno Trulli in 2004, Button knows that this year could be his best ever chance to claim victory on the streets of Monte-Carlo, although a fine-tuning of the BGP 001 will be required first.
"We are going in the right direction following this afternoon's practice session, however this morning proved quite challenging for me," Jenson reported. "I had rear locking in the low speed corners and understeer in the high speed corners and didn't feel quite comfortable in the car.
"However, we were able to make some good setup changes this afternoon and my last runs on the softer tyres were much better. Achieving a good balance is very important here so we are going in the right direction - if we can keep making improvements then it should be a good weekend to come."
