The Williams team has joined forces with Ridge Solutions ahead of this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix. The glamorous Monte-Carlo weekend will be the first on the calendar to see the African company's logos on the cars of Nico Rosberg and Kazuki Nakajima, as the squad gains another sponsor.

With interests in real estate, agriculture and natural resources, Ridge Solutions' first Formula One sponsorship deal begins this weekend as a host of new deals take place for the Monaco Grand Prix. "We are proud to join AT&T Williams and to be able to contribute to the team's Formula One programme," said Ridge chairman José Ferreira Ramos. "We have two principal goals for the partnership: the first is to bring Williams and Formula One to Africa, to help with various social programmes on the continent, from road safety to motorsports development. The second is to support the marketing of Ridge Solutions to international investors, in particular in the Middle East and Asia."
"We are honoured to have Ridge Solutions join our team," said team boss Sir Frank Williams of the Angola-based organisation. "José Ferreira Ramos has a compelling vision both for his company and for his country and we are proud to be able to assist with these objectives."
The last Grand Prix on the African continent to date was the 1993 season-opener at Kyalami, in which Alain Prost took his Williams-Renault to victory.
