Seatbelt issues for Barrichello

Rubens Barrichello explained that a problem with a loose seatbelt restrained him from catching team-mate Jenson Button in Sunday afternoon's Monaco Grand Prix. The Brazilian, who finished second from third on the grid, remained fifteen seconds behind his team-mate for the majority of the race.

Despite finishing runner-up for the third time this season and equalling his Monaco best of 2001, the Paulista was annoyed to have been delayed by a more trivial problem. "In the second stint my seatbelts got looser and looser and I could hear them going 'clank, clank'," he explained.

"I had to start driving differently and switch the brakes to the front because when you brake you are just moving around in the car and when you press the pedal you lock the rear wheels more - so I had a great time, really; it wasn't as easy as it looked from the outside so I am proud of what we achieved today."

With Vettel failing to finish in Monte-Carlo, Barrichello is now twelve points ahead of the German in the drivers' world championship although a first win of the season still eludes the second-placed man. "Once again, just like Barcelona, I had a great start and was able to have a run on Kimi to take second. I then ran at a tremendous pace - it was really, really good behind Jenson."
