Vettel admits driving error

Sebastian Vettel was unable to finish Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix after the Red Bull Racing driver crashed into the tyre barriers in Monte-Carlo. Having been running in fourth position for the opening stint of the race, the German eventually fell foul of the lure of Monaco's armco barriers and joined the famous St. Devote 'hall of shame'.

"There's not much to say really," Vettel commented after the race. "I was perhaps braking a bit too late, locked my rear tyres and then lost the car and hit the wall. We had lost a lot of time already in the first stint, as we were on the wrong tyres - we thought they would be fine for that first short stint but they didn't work out for us.

"Of course it is disappointing not to score any points in Monaco but sometimes that happens and in Monaco for every mistake you pay the price..."
