Rubens Barrichello has vowed to keep the pressure on team-mate Jenson Button in the ongoing quest for the World Championship title this year. Brazilian Barrichello, currently sixteen points behind the Englishman, has failed to finish ahead in any of the six Grands Prix so far in 2009.

| Barrichello is looking for the jump on Button in Turkey next weekend |
Fastest in practice sessions in both Spain and Monaco, 37-year-old Barrichello has demonstrated Button-beating pace this year but is yet to deliver the goods on a Sunday afternoon. "I was running comfortably at tremendous pace," he said of last weekend's Monaco Grand Prix, in which he lost out as a result of, chiefly, worn Super Soft tyres. "Possibly I was just too close to Jenson, as losing that little bit of aerodynamics caused me to struggle a little bit more without the air in front and I started to slide and badly grained the rear tyres."
"I couldn't keep up the pace - from 1 minute 16 seconds I started to do 1 minute 20 seconds (per lap) and Jenson was gaining three or four seconds a lap which pretty much defined the race. I had a great weekend and the car was perfect the whole way through so it was a shame we had the graining." As well as troubles with tyres, the Paulista also experienced a loose seatbelt during the Grand Prix in Monte-Carlo, forcing him to adjust the brake balance of his BGP 001 in a bid to avoid being overly unstable inside the cockpit.

| Barrichello is yet to finish a race as the leading Brawn this season |
"I'm in the game pretty much," he continued. "I think the car will suit me in Turkey, Silverstone - in fact it can suit me anywhere! I don't think that a good driver can say 'I'm not doing well because the car is not suitable for me'; if you're good enough, you just have to adapt to the car and that's it. I wish I had won some races but I'm looking at it differently this time. Of course Jenson is 16 points ahead but I have to cover as many points as possible while I'm not winning, so if I do start winning it's a different matter.
"It's the championship that matters right now and, as I said, Jenson is on a flier. He's not making any mistakes, which is really good for him and really good for the team. I'm pushing him as hard as I can - I wanted to win for myself and for the team but this couldn't be any better for the team, to be honest, because we're pushing each other, we're fair to each other and we're having a wonderful time. He's having a bit more fun than I am because he takes the (winning) trophy home, but I am pushing hard and I won't stop until the very final race."
