Brabham to return to F1?

The famous Brabham team could make its return to the Formula One grid next season, as German business man Franz Hilmer has submitted an entry for the 2010 F1 season according to German magazine Motorsport Aktuell.

The Brabham Formula 1 team completed its last race back in 1992, having won the Formula 1 World Championship four times for drivers and twice as a constructor. Franz Hilmer, now the owner of the name's rights, also bought up assets of Super Aguri when the outfit folder last year.

Brabham made history in 1966 as founder Jack Brabham not only clinched his third title but the also the only onde to date for a driver in his own car. New Zealand's 'Bear' Denny Hulme beat his boss to the championship the following year; the team's next two driver sucesses came courtesy of Nelson Piquet in 1981 and 1983, whilst under the management of Bernie Ecclestone.
