Ahead of the of the 2009 World Championship, Force India boss Vijay Mallya explained how he would be 'disappointed' in the event of his team not scoring points before Barcelona. However, six races in and the squad is yet to get off the mark although Indian tycoon Mallya is satisfied with the progress made so far.
"I think we can be very happy with our showing in Monaco," said Kingfisher boss Mallya after seeing both cars make Q2 on Saturday in the principality. "All weekend it was a great team performance. Following a lot of hard work back at the factory, we ran a constructive, comprehensive programme during free practice and got the timing exactly right to have a superb qualifying.
"I would have been delighted with one car in Q2, but to get two was a dream. It then continued into Sunday's race where Giancarlo was so close to that eighth place - I was so proud of everyone and it's certainly very encouraging for the rest of the season."

| Giancarlo Fisichella raced to an impressive ninth for Force India in Monaco |
As in Monte-Carlo last year, Adrian Sutil narrowly missed out on points for the team in China this season when crashing with six laps to go; with Fisichella finishing ninth position in Monaco as well, the boss is confident that his team's first ever points are just around the corner.
"The result has had a great motivation on the team and the drivers - we just need that little bit more," he continued. "We have some new development items coming through, such as new front wheel spinners and a small modification for the rear suspension. The main thrust of the upgrades will come through in Silverstone, so our aim for Turkey should be to keep the momentum we picked up in Monaco going and consolidate our form rather than wholesale improvements."
