Nico Rosberg is confident that Formula One will continue long into the future, as the row between ten current teams and the governing body rages on. Next Friday will see the FIA announce which thirteen teams will be contesting the 2010 championship, although Rosberg is keen to hush the sport's doubters.
With all current teams except Williams threatening to depart the sport at the end of 2009 - unless the proposed €45m budget cap is removed - German Rosberg believes that F1's long-term future is secure. "I'm very confident there will be a next season, just because of the past really," he said at a wet Istanbul Park on Thursday, with F1 now in its 60th season.
"F1 has always has some big political things going on and has always come through the other side - Formula One has always continued, so I just have that impression and I'm very confident that things will get sorted out and there will be a Formula One." Turkey 2009 is a milestone for 23-year-old Nico, who celebrates starting his 60th Grand Prix since first competing at the 2006 Bahrain Grand Prix.
