Felipe Massa pointed the finger at his Ferrari F60's performance on a low fuel load as the reason for his seventh place qualifying result at Istanbul Park on Saturday. Pole and race winner for the past three seasons in Turkey, the Brazilian starts 2009's Grand Prix with six cars in front of him.
With Kimi Räikkönen sixth, Massa not only lines up seventh fastest but the second of the two Ferrari cars on the grid. "I think it's more the balance of the car with low fuel," he said. "In Q1 and Q2 it was quite good, with good balance and good grip, and then when I put the fuel in the car I just lost the balance - the car began to oversteer and it was a bit difficult to drive, so it was difficult to put a lap together. I think that's the only explanation."

Since the first race in Istanbul in 2005, team-mate Räikkönen is the only other man to have won at the venue, which traditionally held its race in August until last year. "Even the podium won't be easy, so we need to think about good points," a realistic Felipe continued, adding that there is little chance to fight for the win from the fourth row of the grid.
"We need to think about scoring good points and if there's something else it's always welcome. We keep working to improve the situation; if you look from the beginning of the championship to now, we have improved a lot. I think maybe we are still more competitive compared to a few teams, but Red Bull and Brawn are still better than us - not so much, but a little bit - that makes a good difference in the end."
