The Ferrari team is hoping to make the most of its KERS units to allow drivers Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa to make up as many places as possible off the start line in this afternoon's Turkish Grand Prix. The red cars will start the race from sixth and seventh positions, with the Finn leading the way.

Since 2006, nobody but Felipe Massa has claimed victory in Istanbul, although the Brazilian's challenge to remain unbeaten in Turkey at the wheel of a Ferrari is expected to be highly more difficult in 2009. With only Ferrari and McLaren using KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) and the latter lining up in 14th and 16th positions, the Italian Scuderia is looking to reap the rewards of its extra 80 horsepower for 6.6 seconds per lap of the race.
"From what we saw over the course of the day, we can say that we did not get the maximum out of the potential available to us, especially in Q3," said team principal Stefano Domenicali after qualifying. "Having said that, we can expect a very tough and open race - we have a good strategy and we will try to exploit that to pick up a good result."
The race gets underway at 2pm local time in Turkey (GMT +2).
