Chris Dyer admitted his disappointment in honest fashion after the Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday. The Ferrari team manager, who assumed the role in April, was frustrated that drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Räikkönen could manage no more than sixth and ninth places in the race after qualifying sixth and seventh on the grid.
"We are very disappointed because we expected to be in the fight for better places," the Australian said. "We have to really understand why we lost so much speed from one day to another." The team - equipped with KERS - had expected to make places up off the start line, although Räikkönen in particular did the opposite with several cars surrounding the Finn at Turn 1. "Today we weren't competitive, not just up against Brawn GP and Red Bull but also when compared with Toyota and Williams," Dyer continued after the race.
"On top of that, the way the first lap went cost us dear; it's not by chance that the classification of our cars at the end of Lap 1 was the same as they passed the chequered flag."
