Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Räikkönen will be running with more advanced cars for the next race in Britain. The Scuderia, which has already introduced a lighter chassis for the 2007 World Champion, will now do the same for the 2008 runner-up as well as introducing key changes to the suspension of the F60.

The reigning constructors' Champions have experienced a diverse season so far in 2009, with the car having scored only a single podium for Räikkönen in Monaco. After trialling the latest components during a straight-line test at Fiorano on Monday, however, the Italian team is now ready to roll out its most recently developed parts. Felipe Massa will enjoy use of a lighter chassis, so far used only by Räikkönen whose general build makes the Finn the heavier of the two drivers.
Also tested in Italy by Massa - who replaced test driver Marc Gené just one day after the Spaniard's Le Mans 24-Hour win - was a new front wing and secondary parts on the front end of the car. As well as this, new wheel flanges and a new mounting system for them will first be used in England, allowing stopping times to be decreased. The latest suspension geometry parameters will let the car's weight distribution be moved further forwards in a bid to improve overall balance and downforce over the course of a lap whilst, significantly, allowing the Ferrari's tyres to reach racing temperatures quicker, both at the start of the race and after pit-stops.
